Lux Musicae London:

Mirjam-Luise Münzel, recorder

Aileen Henry, harp

Toby Carr, lute

Just as spring clothes the hills and valleys with fresh growth, recorder player Mirjam-Luise Münzel, harpist Aileen Henry and lutenist Toby Carr bring spontaneous improvisation and embellishment to popular tunes of the 16th and 17th centuries. Inspired by the song Vestiva i colli, this programme connects with the beauties of nature as well as the ingenuity of man.

Kinga Gáborjáni, cello and viola da gamba
Catherine Martin, violin and viola d'amore
Rachel Stott, viola d'amore
Jan Waterfield, chamber organ

Kinga Gáborjáni concludes her cycle of Bach's cello suites, begun at SNEMF 2019, with the suite No. 5 in C minor. This suite requires the cello to be tuned in an unusual way (scordatura) which creates a unique resonance. The programme also includes a scordatura violin sonata by Biber as well as works for viola d'amore by Grobe and Biber.
